FOODIE
Foodie is a social media app concept that brings food lovers together to post photos of the best meals they've had and share their stories. The client asked for 3 app screen designs from scratch: a Login page, Home Feed, and a User Profile page. The logo was provided and they also requested to utilize black, white, and greyscale elements with the exception of color images. Sans serif fonts only were also requested.
Design Process
This project consisted of choosing a target demographic and curating photos/ imagery for the aesthetic of the app. My concept idea here was "Yelp meets Instagram". The login page I kept pretty simple, while the inspiration for the home feed was actually an old-school Nokia 7230 slider phone - Where when you click "more" the caption expands like the keyboard of a slider phone. The profile page I also wanted to subtly stand out from other social media app designs by having a somewhat amorphous photo feed structure to it. The navigation buttons chosen were to make it easy to find restaurants nearby and to have a feed specifically dedicated to the people's posts you don't want to miss (ie: the friend feed, where the home feed is a collection of friends and suggestions based on what the user might like.)
